1 Rules
1.1 The regatta will be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS), the prescriptions of the United States Sailing Association (US SAILING), the rules of the International Laser Class Association (ILCA) and this Notice Of Race, except as any of these are changed by the Sailing Instructions or any appendices to the Sailing Instructions.
1.2 The organizing authority is the Brant Beach Yacht Club.
1.3 The regatta is designated Grade 2 event in accordance with RRS Appendix 1, ISAF Regulation 20.
1.4 Appendix P Immediate Penalties for breaking Rule 42 will apply.
2 Language
2.1 The official language for this regatta will be English.
3 Inspection and Measurement
3.1 Sails, rigging, boats and equipment may be measured prior to racing, and may also be spot checked at any time during the regatta. Note that numbers and letters drawn on the sail with permanent ink pens are not legal. Refer to http://www.laserinternational.org/sailnos.htm for detailed instructions.
4 Eligibility and Entry
4.1 Laser, Radial, Laser and 4.7 competitors who are members of the ILCA-NA or their National Laser Class Association, may enter by completing registration with the organizing authority. A minimum of five entries are required to constitute a class.
5 Risk
It is the competitor's decision to enter the regatta and to start or continue any race. The competitors are ultimately responsible for the risks. The competitor will accept full responsibility for all his/her actions during any activity related to the event. This includes on-shore activities before, during, and after the regatta.

6.2 No warning signal will be made after 1500 on the final day of the regatta
7 Advance Registration
Competitors may register and pay in advance on-line at the BBYC Website-bbyc.net under Sailing. They may also print the registration form, fill it out and return with check payable to BBYC to PO Box 208 Ship Bottom NJ 08008

8 Fees
8.1 The entry fee is for Laser, Radial and 4.7 entries is $130.00 USD. A late entry fee of $155 will be charged after July 20, 2009. Sailors are not officially registered until they have paid.
8.2 The entry fee includes Thursday refreshments, three full breakfasts, fruit, water and snacks between all races, Friday and Saturday night dinners and a Sunday Awards Barbeque. It also includes a Regatta tee shirt.
9 Sailing Instructions
The sailing instructions will be available during on-site registration.
10 Courses & Racing Area
10.1 Courses will be standard ILCA-NA courses as described in the ILCA-NA Regatta Guidelines.
10.2 The racing area will be Little Egg Harbor Bay west of the Intercoastal Waterway
11 Scoring
11.1 The Low Point Scoring System, Appendix A4, will be used except as modified below.
11.2 Ten races are scheduled; a minimum of three races must be completed to constitute a regatta.
11.3 When five or more races are completed a sailor may discard their worst score and if 10 races are completed, two races may be discarded.
12 Waiver
12.1 Sailing is an activity that has an inherent risk of damage and injury. Competitors in this event are participating entirely at their own risk. See RRS 4, Decision to Race. The race organizers including the Brant Beach YC, the race committee, protest committee, judges or any other associated organization or official will not be responsible for damage to any boat or other property or the injury to any competitor, including death, sustained as a result of participation in this event. By participating in this event, each competitor agrees to release the race organizers from any and all liability associated with such competitor’s participation in this event to the fullest extent permitted by law.
13 Lodging
Long Beach Island is a summer resort community. Sailors are recommended to book accommodation as early as possible. A list of motels is provided below as well as two lodging web sites with links to accommodations including rental houses and campgrounds.
