1. Rules

1.1 The regatta will be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) for 2005-2008, the prescriptions of the United States Sailing Association (US SAILING), and this Notice Of Race, except as any of these are changed by the Sailing Instructions or any appendices to the Sailing Instructions.
1.2 The organizing authority is the Brant Beach Yacht Club.
1.3 The regatta is designated Category C in accordance with RRS Appendix 1, ISAF Regulation 20. 

2. Eligibility and Entry

All Club 420, Laser, Laser Radial, Laser 4.7, Lightning, Mariner, Optimist, and Sunfish competitors may enter by completing registration with the Brant Beach Yacht Club.

3.  Risk

It is the competitor's decision to enter the regatta and to start or continue any race. The competitors are ultimately responsible for the risks. The competitor will accept full responsibility for all his/her actions during any activity related to the event. This includes on-shore activities before, during, and after the regatta.

4.   Registration and Fees

a. Competitors may register by:

i. Filling out the online registration form and paying on-line at the BBYC Website-BBYC.net under regattas.
ii. Filling out the online registration form and calling BBYC with a Credit Card (609-494-4485)
iii. Printing the registration form, filling it out and mailing it with a check payable to Brant Beach Yacht Club, P.O. Box 208, Ship Bottom, NJ 08008
iii . Register on the morning of the regatta, June 14, 2008 between 8:00 and 9:30 AM at the South Harbor Facility. (The $10 late fee will apply)

b. The entry fee is:

i. $40 for Optimist, Sunfish, Laser, Laser Radial, Laser4.7
ii. $60 for Club 420, and Mariner
iii. $80 for Lightnings

c. Entry fee includes registration, T-shirts, Breakfast, Lunch on the water, and after sailing barbeque for Helm and Crew.

d. U.S. Sailing Members in good standing can deduct $5 from the fee.

e. A $10 late Registration fee will be added for registrations received after June 7, 2008.

5. Schedule of Events (Property View )

Saturday June 14, 2008

• Registration, breakfast and check in South Harbor Club House:    8:00-930 AM
• Skipper's Meeting 9:30 AM
• Race one 10:30 AM, followed by Races two, three and as many as time allows for the small boats.
• Barbecue Dinner Main Club House after racing.

6.   Sailing Instructions

Sailing Instructions will be available at the time of registration.

7.   Courses and Racing Area

The race courses, located approximately 2 miles Southwest of the Club, will be used with separate starts for each class. Club-420s, Optimists, Laser, and Laser Radial will sail on one course and Lightnings, Mariners and Sunfish will sail on the other course.

8.   Scoring

The Low Point scoring system, RRS A2, will apply, except that if more than four races are completed one (1) score will be dropped. One race constitutes a regatta.

9. Waiver

Sailing is an activity that has an inherent risk of damage and injury. Competitors in this event are participating entirely at their own risk. See RRS 4, Decision to Race. The race organizers including the Brant Beach YC, the race committee, protest committee, judges or any other associated organization or official will not be responsible for damage to any boat or other property or the injury to any competitor, including death, sustained as a result of participation in this event. By participating in this event, each competitor agrees to release the race organizers from any and all liability associated with such competitor’s participation in this event to the fullest extent permitted by law.

10. Safety

 Life jackets must be worn at all times while racing in the Optimist, Laser, Laser Radial and Club 420

11. Prizes

• Optimist - 1st through 4th place Overall and 1st through 4th place in each of the Red, Blue and White fleets.
• Sunfish - 1st through 4th place.
• C-420, Mariner, Lightning - 1st through 3rd place for helm and crew
• Laser, Laser Radial - 1st through 6th place.
• The highest placing Sunfish sailor from Area C that meets the eligibility requirements will qualify for the finals of the US Sailing Singlehanded Championship (O’Day Trophy).
• The first place C-420 team will be designated as the North Jersey Yacht Racing Association Champions
