(This Notice of Race may be amended from time to time pursuant to rule 89.2)

The regatta will be hosted at Brant Beach Yacht Club and organized by the Brant Beach Sailing Foundation in conjunction with U.S. Sailing.

1. Rules

1.1. The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS), the prescriptions of US SAILING, the rules of the Laser Radial, Laser 4.7, Club 420, Optimist classes and this Notice of Race, except as any of these are changed by the Sailing Instructions or any appendices to the Sailing Instructions.

2. Eligibility and Entry

2.1. The regatta is open to all boats of the Optimist, Club 420, Laser Radial and Laser 4.7 classes. Membership in fleet classes is encouraged. A minimum of 5 boats is required to be registered by June 15 to constitute a class. If there are not enough sailors registered for the Laser 4.7 class by June 15th, sailors will be able to move to the Laser Radial class or withdraw from the regatta.

2.2. Membership in US Sailing is required for each competitor (skipper and crew for double handed classes). Your membership number will be required to complete your online registration. Sailors can join US SAILING at http://www.ussailing.org/membership/.

2.3. The Red, Blue and White Fleet assignments will be based on the competitor’s age on the first day of the regatta, June 24, 2017.

3. Registration; Entry Fees

3.1. The Registration fee is $75 for single handed classes and $140 for double handed classes. Registration shall be done online. Competitors shall have completed all parts of the online registration form together with all fees paid by June 15, 2017. An additional late entry fee of US $25 shall be paid for late registrations completed June 16, 2017 thru June 24, 2017.

3.2. Registration is to be done on-line at http://www.regattanetwork.com/event/14086 The official date of registration is determined by the date of payment. Each competitor shall confirm they are registered by checking the registration list on the Event registration page. Regatta Network will not list you as registered until they are paid. Registration at Brant Beach YC will be available during sailor check-in as long as registrants are members of US SAILING.

3.3. The entry fee includes a T shirt, two continental breakfasts, Saturday Lunch, Saturday Dinner, Sunday Lunch, BBQ, and awards.

5. Measurement

5.1. All sailors will be responsible for their boats being in compliance with the class rules.

5.2. The Race and or Protest Committee may inspect or measure any equipment and/or sail at any time. Each yacht is to have all safety equipment as specified in the class rules. Failure to have such equipment is grounds for disqualification from that race. NOTE: US Coast Guard Approved Lifejackets only.

6. Sailing Instructions

Sailing Instructions will be distributed at check-in.

7. Venue The racing area will be west of Brant Beach Yacht Club on Little Egg Harbor Bay.

8. The Course

The course will be included in the Sailing Instructions.

9. Scoring

9.1. The Low Point Scoring System of rule Appendix A will apply.

9.2. One completed Set of races shall constitute the regatta.

9.3. When fewer than six (6) Sets of races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of all of her race scores. When six (6) races have been completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of the race scores excluding the worst score.

10. Prizes

Awards will be given to the top five finishers in the R/W/B Optimist divisions. Awards will be given to the top three finishers in each of the C420, Laser Radial and Laser 4.7 class.

Additional awards and prizes may be presented at the sole discretion of the host and organizing authority, and may be based on criteria other than the regatta.
